Great Movie, but Don't think I will Sit Through It All Again

Watched it In the cinema in the UK today, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Was great to hear the crowds laughter at the funny bits, etc.

I think the film does go almost too slow in about its 3rd quarter (but not the last quarter, which other reviewers seem to be saying, I loved that and thought that is what made the movie special.

So mainly because of that, I can see myself settling down to watch chunks of it again when it is on Netflix, but not watching the whole thing in one sitting, which is what this movie requires, a focus on the story.

Glad I watched it in the cinema, I think it will be too.easy for folk to get distracted at home

3 1/2 hours is pretty insane but I thank god Scorsese was able to do it one more time.

reply

Scorsese's not done yet. He's got other projects in the works.

reply

I have no doubt Scorsese can pull off a 3.5 hour film, Wolf of Wall Street was 3 hours and it was amazing.

reply

Well I did sit through it again...I take my posting back...

It's fantastic.

Dude that's great, I haven't looked forward to a movie this much in a long, long time. Last time was Mad Max 4, in which I was very disappointed.

reply

God that Mad Max was awful, just constant noise and running about really

Yeah, I think the Irishman is somewhat better than that :-)
