soooo ... yay or nay???

How good is it?

Just watched the episode. I liked it. Its a straight up hardcore sequel to The Clone Wars. The first minutes were interesting. It does retcon somewhat the origins of a certain character from their comic origins in this episode which was fine.

The Bad Batch...Gotta give credit to the Voice Actor doing all these voices of these characters and basically talking to himself. Its crazy.

Some familiar Character Cameos which was great. Its interesting to see what happened post ROTS straight away and how things began to change with the Empire starting to take over in their early days.

Out of the Bad Batch the most annoying character is Wrecker. He's basically a man-child/jock and its annoying and off-putting when you compare him to the rest of the cast and his actions. Hope he gets better or killed off.

The new character of Omega is interesting. On one hand she's there as a way for the kid audience to get attached to the show but there's also clearly some major set-up being done with her and Im curious to see where that goes.

Im thinking this show or series will end with the Bad Batch being responsible for killing off all the loyal Empire Clones by activating some sort of kill switch and that explaining why the Empire had no more Clones in their service at the time of the original trilogy. I don't know, its just this weird feeling Im getting that they might go in that route because the only thing we've been told was they just simply stopped using them and started drafting normal people into the Empire's Army. But I think this show might go darker and say otherwise. That or the Bad Batch do something to make the Clones question the Empire and Palpatine does something to kill them all off.

Aren't the clones limited in life-span? That might be one of the reasons the empire stopped used them.

How long does the life span last though? Rex is still going strong with Gregor and Wolff during Rebels. Hmm.

it's more of the clone wars. this time a sequel to revenge of the sith. i enjoyed it but i started off hating it. don't really care for the characters but they are ok and i will continue watching.

coming back after the first episode:

surprisingly good.

And another surprise: the length, almost 90 mins.

Never watched Clone Wars and find some of the dialogue a bit kiddy-ish and annoying, otherwise it's good to see more of the Star Wars universe.

Incidentally, I just finished reading the comic book of "The Star Wars" original script, it was terrible. Almost finished listening to the Dark Empire audio book which is on YouTube. SPOILER: Pretty good though some of the Emperor stuff is laughable.

"Never watched Clone Wars and find some of the dialogue a big kiddy-ish and annoying" same as in Clone wars. That's why I stopped watching the clone wars after 4-5 episodes.

But most of it it's around the droids and those are gone (I hope). The rest of the show (without the droids) seems ok or at least watchable.

After 2 episodes, I'll call it: Good! If you liked "Clone Wars" you'll like it, because it's spin-off of the old show. Of course it doesn't have the massive scope of "Clone Wars" because it's got a few leading characters rather than following tons of old and new SW characters, but it's got good action and some brains and the only thing I actively dislike is the kid. But then, I feel that way about most kids.

As for why the Empire stopped using clones, remember, it was 40-50 years before we saw a definite clone-less army. Depending on what kind of growth/aging curve the clones had, there were probably quite a few still around at the time of "A New Hope", even if the Empire did stop ordering new ones when Luke and Leia were little. Maybe it was cheaper to start using orphans and the children of political prisoners to make the next generation of stormtroopers, but most of the clones that were young at the time of "The Bad Batch" would still be in service by "A New Hope", but they'd be gone by "The Force Awakens".

4th episode was great

Yay.

8-9 episodes in, and I'm giving it a thumbs up.

A bit too much about the kid, but other than that it's an interesting show, suspenseful episodes, looks great, grownup themes, and until "The Mandalorian" comes back on I'm happy to poke around the less savory parts of the Star Wars universe with these guys.
