Wouldn't Miles already know what's going on?

As Blanc already surmised, the killer would already know Andi is an imposter.

But doesn't this make things obvious from Miles' point of view? He knows he killed Andi. And he most likely figured Helen showed up dressed as Andi in order to get to the bottom of Andi's death. But also a well-known detective shows up seemingly uninvited as well? I would think it would be pretty apparent to Miles that Helen and Blanc are working together....

Agree!

Badly written movie is this.

Another thing that wasn't believable was that when a famous person like Cassandra dies, there's no way it's kept secret for four days. It would have been out there very quickly. People at the morgue or somewhere just can't keep secrets like that. One of them would have posted on social media and then it would have been everywhere.

This fact pretty much ruins the movie.

reply

Agreed, it would have been public knowledge before Blanc ever even met Helen.

Thanks for the reply.

For a while I thought maybe the movie was really smart and that actually it was not Andie who died, but Helen (somehow) and she was fooling Blanc, but no, sadly not the case.

Blanc is extremely well-connected, and expressly stated in the film that he could use his police contacts to keep Andi’s death quiet for another day or two, which was all they’d need.

Whether you believe it or not, it was in fact addressed in the film

Which was nullified by two things:
- four days had already passed
- the agency problem. You might ask an agency like the police to do something, but there are so many slips and people breaking the rules behind the scenes, especially in a case like this involving a celebrity

reply

Agreed. It's not that simple as it sounds. Imagine concealing the news of death of Madonna or Elon Musk.

It's not even fathomable as suspension of disbelief.
Very poor writing full of plot holes.

The only thing I could see happening was that Miles didn't hang around to 100% ensure Andi died via CO2 poisoning and that she escaped from the vehicle, and later showed up for some unfinished business.

Helen and Blanc knew the killer would realize the truth about both Helen’s charade and Blanc’s mysterious presence.

But the killer couldn’t reveal that he (or she) knew that truth without admitting to Andi’s murder.

It was a deliberate cat & mouse ploy from the get-go. I believe they stated as much
