I noticed this too. They should have used 1980's Valley Girl slang and uptalk.
I guess they thought younger viewers wouldn't have gotten it, which, if true, I disagree with.

That’s more of a 90s thing.
I don’t know about the 80s but Paris Hilton didn’t popularize bitches. In the 90s, at least, girls used the word bitches like that all the time.
