Not Very Good, Not Awful

I'd give it about a 3/10

The main problem is the behavior of the main character, who makes one inexcusably bad decision after another, and seems barely aware that she's traveled in time. I get that it's not meant to be taken seriously, but at the same time it isn't played for straight up laughs. It seems to waffle between the two, and never finds its footing.

My main takeaway as I watched was that it could have been a really good film if only the filmmakers put more thought and effort into what they were making. Instead, it feels rushed and uneven.

Yeah, the tone was uneven as fuck. I didn’t see the trailer and when they got to the science fair I was disappointed time travel was involved. Either make it magic or be convincing. Don’t make it science magic. Genre mashups often fail because the creators don’t nail the tone. This move could never be more than the sum of its parts because of that.

isnt any time travel film "science magic" ?

It mainly just made me glad I grew up around that time period

Why is that?

All of it
