I didn't enjoy this, unfortunately (spoilers)

On the whole, I thought this was the worst 'Scream'. Bland direction, wooden actors, unlikeable characters, unremarkable dialogue and no scares. The only actor who seemed to fit the tone of the series was Jack Quaid.

What about the meta commentary?

reply

I didn't think the dialogue flowed very well, either because the script wasn't strong enough or because the actors weren't up to it, possibly a combination of both.

I agree. I wanted to like it. And it got good reviews and did well.
But I just found it boring and a cash grab.
The motive was the absolute worst of the entire series.
Its depressing because I guess I'm one of those oldheads who didn't care for the new spin on a beloved franchise even though I was only 10 when the orginal came out.

Agreed. There was a lack of energy in this film that was only alleviated (at times) by the nostalgia of seeing David Arquette, Courtney Cox and Neve Campbell in action. Without them, this felt like more of a direct-to-DVD sequel (or today's streaming equivalent).

it's not awful and i think people are exaggerating saying this is worse than part 3.

I do hope it ends here. Leave it alone.

Of course, it was poor quality woke garbage.

(Spoilers ahead)

Notice how in a very multiracial cast the only people to die are white, including of course the white male of the three surviving legacy characters, and the villains are of course white. On top of that it was poorly written and directed.

I always loved Scream 4 and the only good thing about 5cream is that it has made more people realise how good it was. Just a shame they didn’t realise it at the time - we could have had a 5 and 6 written/directed by Craven/Williamson.
