Kind of irked - would not have even started watching if....

I had known this was going to be more than a limited series.

And the ending hotel room scene really ended it for me......jumped the shark big time...

Agree. This was a complete bait and switch. I am not into another List/Manifest/Make-it-up-as-we-go-along series that just throws endless plot twists at you to string you along to some finale that either never happens or bombs when it does.

reply

Huh? When it started it was widely stated this was going to be a 5-season show (if Showtime continually renewed it) and it WAS renewed for a second season halfway thru this first season.

No one’s fault other than your own for not knowing a second season was to arrive and that it was not a jump-the-shark. The end was a cliffhanger and cliffhangers in regards to series are much older than you or I.

Here is the thing - I purposely did not read much about this program for one reason - to avoid spoilers (though I did start wondering about the length when around the seventh or so episode that it seemed unlikely that they were going to wrap up 19 months of being stranded in the remaining episodes).

Secondly, I just read a couple of days ago that it had been renewed for a second season and never knew it was a proposed five-season program.

Lastly, I know what a cliffhanger is (no need to be condescending, eh?) but the last scene with "Natalie" in the hotel room was a sort of jump the shark moment for me - not what she maybe was going to do, but what happened for her.

Frankly, if I had known this was a possible five-season program I would not have invested ten hours into the thing to begin with.

NO! You are should do your research on how many seasons the producers are hoping to get! lol

I figured you knew what a cliffhanger was. Plus I did not define what one was so condescension was not the intent.

Also, the last scene was nowhere near a jump the shark moment unless you truly believe it was an attempt to *spark re-interest* in the series. Based on fan groups I lurk in and pre-finale chatter I can assure you it was not jump the shark nor that interest needed a match lit under it.

yep think i'm done. Will probably check the premiere of next season to see if they fix their problems , most of the characters are not likeable , so who cares if they die.

Just finished it, and read about S2 before I'd got to the end. It certainly changed my expectation. At least the 19 month timeline gives some hope for an ending. Let's see how it holds up.
