Pretty Selfish... (SPOILER)

...Of them curing everyone and sending them back to their own timelines.
That would definitely screw up their timelines, with DEAD people coming back IE new marriages/kids/inheritance/they should go to jail/etc

Ikr. so Norman, Otto etc return to their timelines in 2002, 04 etc and what? They're goodies now and spidey no kills them??

reply

That isn't what happened. They were not returned from the dead. They were taken from their timeline before they died, then returned. No one in the original timeline has any reason to believe they had died, because in that universe they never did. Try to keep up! :)

It's like the Ancient One and Smart Hulk said ... you can't change your own past. Norman and Otto will return to their respective universes which will branch off into new variants.

Without the TVA, each variant will go its merry way.

Sadly, this probably means that the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man from this film will never see them again, since they're both already dead in his own timeline.

There's two ways to look at this.

1. Otto is like the time stone, plucked from his timeline moments before death, then returned cured. That wouldn't cause a split, because nothing happens to change the timeline. This wouldn't necessarily be the timeline we saw in Spider-Man 2, because in that film he wasn't plucked away and returned cured, and we saw him die, but in his timeline, he never dies. He was pulled through the multiverse likely moments before his death has inevitable, then returned cured in time to avoid death.

2. Otto is like Loki, leaping from one timeline to another, dead in the first, living in the second.
