I was surprised by the homage to Hitchcock's Psycho and Janet Leigh in the way they killed Laurie's daughter at the end of Halloween Kills. I wasn't surprised by the obvious nod but by the choice to kill Greer's character.

There was no homage. Janet Leigh was murdered in the shower at a motel by a deranged person, not by a super natural evil force

You obviously don't know what "homage" means. Everything from the way they framed the shots, to not showing any actual knife penetration, Greer's hands during the attack, and the way they flip back and forth between Myers and victim were obviously intended to evoke Psycho. Do better, be better.

This movie sucked overall in my opinion but I liked the homage to Halloween III with the Silver Shamrock masks.

It was a great homage and I did find it surprising overall. Really liked Greer in this role myself.

And this film… rocked. Big fan of the last one and I dug Kills even more (that’s right).

It wasn't a homage to Psycho it was a recreation of Judith's murder in the original Haloween (1978), Karen was staring at the window on Judith's room and Michael killed her just like he did to Judith

You can't be serious. Judith's murder scene in the original was shot POV through a mask from Michael's perspective. The two shots couldn't be more different. It was an obvious Psycho homage.

It doesn't have to be filmed exactly the same way, it was intended as a homeage to Judith's murder as Karen was in her bedroom and reacted like Judith did to Michael stabbing her, going by your logic then shots of Karen's blood dripping by her feet would have been shown and more importantly, it would have happened in the shower.

"Green’s Psycho easter egg comes in at Halloween Kills’ ending as it mimics the iconic Marion Crane kill. As Karen is inside Michael Myers’ house and stares out of his window, he suddenly appears brandishing his knife. The sequence is clearly a Psycho homage, with its staggered killer’s point of view that doesn't actually show the knife punctuating the skin, and focuses on Karen's screams as she tries to block his blows. It goes even further as Karen slowly slides down the wall of Michael’s house, just as Marion slide down the shower wall in Alfred Hitchock's movie. The quick edits in Karen’s death scene deviate from Halloween Kills’ typical style, proving its Psycho influence was intentional. The only other aspect that would have made the tribute more obvious is if a dying Karen had slowly reached out her hand."
