Strategy 101.

This show is will go down in history as the one with all the stupidest and worst military strategies.

Again, an defending army waits outside a castle instead of behind the walls.

Euron's fleet killed a Dragon and over a dozen ship last episode and now they couldn't even stop a few ships from landing soldiers by the capital's wall?

Why didn't Dany use the cover of night to deal with Euron's fleet before the battle? That would have been a great scene and made the whole "suddenly invincible Dragon" more believable for the rest of the battle. One could have argued that the Ironborn were great shots while Lannister manning the scorpions on the walls were not.

yeah, even the cast I am learning agrees it wasn't the best writing in recent seasons

reply

well its prob part of the contract for the golden company and besides Cersei have more than enough troops defending the castle. I believe both forces are about equal with Cersei having a stronger army with the help of the golden company.

The night attack could work if Dany have night vision goggles.

Tell me, what did you think of the military strategy in seasons 1-6? Any huge fuckups or obvious idiocy there?

Obviously the writing is shit this year because nobody on staff gives a rat's ass about plausibility or detail, but it was better all around earlier in the show's run. I hope that applies to battle strategies as well.
