Why did Dexter kill Brian /Rudy/ice truck killer and let his body to be found by the police?
Sure I get the idea that he wanted the kill to be in the same M.O of the ice truck killer.
However it would have been better if he had dumped the body parts and let the police think the killer is on the run.
That's what he did for Trinity,Lila,and others...
Not sure. My guess is that he wanted his brother to have his credit and also because he didn't want to treat him like any other body. It was a sign of respect.
shareI think that's when Dexter began to feel like a human being. He Seemed to care a lot about Brian, so I agree. I mean, they were just little boys, and they watched their mom (I personally loved my mom; she was my best friend, who passed in July) get butchered. I can understand why they would get psychotic. If someone hurt MY mother, it would've gotten ugly:-)
shareProbably because he wanted to flaunt Brian's intelligence and thrown it in Metro's face for not being able to catch him despite him dating a cop and being the blood splatter annalists brother.
Also they wouldn't go investigating any further and have his history end up crossing paths with Dexters.
It was the first season and needed too make an impression. A serial killer in the league of 80s horror was the right ticket.

shareHe typically just eliminated people, and no one knew, true, but with Lila, she actually did flee first, so she doesn't count. With Brian/Rudy, he Debra would feel safe, and know the guy who tied to kill her wasn't still out there. Plus, as he stated, his bother was no trophy. Killing him wasn't the same as the rest. He couldn't allow him to go free, being so dangerous but he didn't want to treat him like all the others. He understood that he has a chance his brother didn't, and could have been just like him otherwise.
