To those who think he was stupid...

Nothing is worth dying to you? Chris knew he could die, it didn't stop him from doing what was important. He wasn't stupid or selfish, he was courageous and a martyr. If you can't relate to him or his story then I understand, but if you can and you still think he was stupid, you're limiting your potential. Think beyond yourselves, find something worth dying for.

Courage and stupidity aren't mutually exclusive. Just because something is worth dying for doesn't mean going about it haphazardly.

But I will agree; Misadventure is still an adventure.

He wasn't a martyr or a hero. He did not die for any great cause. He was just a pathetic idiot who didn't have enough sense to be let out without adult supervision. To those who think he was heroic, you are truly clueless. The story of this moron was just too far over your head.

He wasn’t stupid but was selfish to his family who loved him

There are lots of things that I list as worth dying for. Camping in the woods in a shitty rusted out bus is not one of them.

McCandless was a moron.
