Is it a running gag that Maeve gets killed over and over

I can't even feel sad about her character's demise because I'm not believing anymore she's dead...

yeah she's kind of like Kenny that way - I like her though, she's like a homicidal Energizer bunny

I've just seen episode 4 (s3,ep4). I believe this discussion might change track. I won't spoil it until you watch the episode.

Well they made a point of showing Musashi/Dolores NOT taking her pearl, so she's not out of the game yet

I got the impression from their conversation that all the Hosts were Delores.
It might explain why Charlotte was upset whilst watching her human-self sending a message to her son before dying. Delores lost her father in a previous episode, so perhaps she has her father's memories inside Charlotte's pearl.

There are so many possibilities, perhaps I'm totally wrong.
On the other hand. perhaps all the Hosts in HumanWorld all have matching memories and Delores is allowing a certain experience to come to the fore in each one. So many possibilities.

I'm beyond done with TV shows nowadays killing characters on show only to bring them back to life the very next episode. AHS does this constantly, Supernatural does this constantly, Westworld, a lot of the superhero shows, just enough

Was one of the best things about the British TV show Spooks... in any given season a main character could get killed off and they stayed gone. When that happens it gives scenes more tension since you are certain that X, Y and Z can't die since they are main characters. We need more series where they aren't afraid to kill off characters and let them stay dead. Frankly cop shows should just randomly draw straws each season to see which character get killed off and if its the main star so be it, the show could still continue as life continues when someone dies.

Amen to this ^^

Also can't forget Jon Snow in GOT. Most people didn't have a problem with this but it bugged the hell out of me. I don't care if it was done in the book, or that they already established it could be done with Beric. It still felt like a cheap shock finale ending, then hit the do-over button the following season.

It's really becoming a tired and stale TV trope. If your gonna kill a character, keep them dead or don't bother.

Delores, Hector, and Clementine don't exactly never die themselves.

reply

Yeah, not many people that haven't died multiple times now. Season 3 is a total embarrassment.
