the gangs reaction to finding out there grandpapa was a nazi was not realistic

the gang are the most not pc group of tv charecters around and do all sorts of crazy white trash stuff but when they find out they are related to a nazi they start acting like some sjw snowflakes and act like its the end of the world. always thought there reaction to this news didn't fit there characters. most people white trash people would think its funny and laugh it off lol. i always thought that this was a part of propaganda that never fit into the show

That's because the gang isn't racist(well Frank is, but as a whole they aren't). They are selfish, self absorbed narcisist, but they don't hate anyone. To most people who aren't racist pieces of shit, finding out their grandfather was a Nazi who took them to Hitler youth camps would be extremely fucked up.

idk maybe for someone from san fran or nyc they would freak out but people from philidelphia wouldnt care as much

As the previous poster said, the gang isn't racist, and in their minds they are usually doing the right thing. This includes not being nazis.

It's more like finding out that your grandfather or great grandfather was alive during racist times - which is no surprise, they were. Being a racist in the early 20th century wasn't exclusive to Nazis.

If your grandfather actually was an NSDAP member is a birth lottery thing, completely out of your influence.

People from Germany wouldn't freak out at all, I guess.

Actually, my family is from Austria and you're not off. First, everyone knows who wore the uniform and why. There wouldn't be a surprise. In IASIP, I can see why they respond that way. They grew up in the USA where this specific group is not common and they found out they were unintentionally a part of it.
