I didn't know the fly was a remake. I've also never seen the fly. It's one of my gaps.

Watch them both! The original is a Vincent Price classic and is great, but the Cronenberg remake is legendary.

The original is a very amateur film that is super low budget. Remakes are usually a hollow cash grab by the studios, but this remake is far superior and worth the watch. It is not a great film, but it is decent and entertaining.

Yep. One of the few horror remakes I vastly prefer to the original.
