Just watched it on DVD for first time expecting a Dark Knight type masterpiece and am completely baffled. Why did critics give it such great reviews? Its clearly an average superhero movie - the acting (Pine ok), the FX, and the origin story you got to admit is abit ridiculous even for a superhero film, .. yet it got hailed a modern masterpiece almost. yet its like an inferior version of Thor meets Captain America 1 (seem to remember that wasn't as acclaimed as this..and was deemed pretty average at the time in 2011 and just did ok box office)

And it made huge box office bigger than all the DCU bar BvS..

Because DC finally made a decent flick (other than the lame end fight).

DC's good movies:
Superman 78
Batman Begins
TDK
Watchmen
Wonder Woman
Shazam

That's it. The rest are shit. (I have fondness for Superman 2 but recognize that it is shit)

in light of WW84 - has it made anyone review their original opinion of WW1?

The WW1 kinda of better with more originality , while for WW84 its kinda just too commercialized.

My opinion is pretty much the same. It's one of the better DC films. Gal Gadot shines as Wonder Woman, and the love story between her and Steve Trevor is nice. Still, the last act is weak with the final battle and everything.
