Think Spider-Man 3 Was Bad? The Original Plan Would've Been So Much Worse

Spider-Man 3 is considered the worst movie in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy, but the original plan for it would have made it two times worse.

I don't see how that proves it would've been worse. Though I think Sand Man was always going to be Uncle Ben's killer even if Raimi wasn't forced to include Venom. From what I've heard his original plan was to have Vulture and Sand Man as the main antagonists working together. Which would've worked better. As you all know though I don't really care for this movie at all and I doubt I would've cared for it with Venom or no Venom.

They say the problem was the studio forced him to add venom and then they also said too many villains made it crowded. So having Vulture in the mix instead of venom presents the same problem. The venom parts were the only parts that flowed together cohesively, Sandman was the problem. He is a throw away villain and Raimi tried to make him another sympathetic bad guy and dug up Uncle Ben a third time to yet again tie the major villain directly to Peter Parker. Then if the plot wasn't recycled enough MaryJane is kidnapped by the villain for the third time in the franchise.

What? Splitting that film into two parts would have been brilliant. That's exactly what was wrong with the whole thing. Overstuffed and rushed. There should have been an entire film of black suit Spider-Man and Venom doesn't even show up till part 2. You split the movies right at the bell scene where the symbiote transfers to Brock. Dun dun dunh. Peter thinks he finally got his monkey off his back but his real problems are only just beginning. See ya next summer.
