i liked the movie its a great movie if u have understood it was actually trying to show that god gives u the opportunity to change the world so he asks evan to build an ark to save the town and animals from a flood when all he need was to take it little step at a time. i totally enjoyed it
Agreed! I finally got around to watching this movie today. I wasn't expecting much and I think that is exactly what allowed me to enjoy the movie so much. I honestly thought it was great, I laughed a lot and even learned a little bit from it. Overall I would give it 7/10.

I always enjoyed this movie.
I think the reason that some people hated this was because it's message about how God teaches you. Something an atheist may struggle to enjoy. This didn't bother me, though. I found the movie entertaining for the most part.
Another thing is, that the humour is very different from Bruce Almighty. This was more family humour, whereas Bruce Almighty was more about Bruce getting revenge on his co-workers and people who had wronged him. (And of course, the token physical comedy from Jim Carey.) Evan Almighty was a gentler kind of humour. So I guess that turned some people off it.
I enjoy Evan Almighty though. It's one of those easy watching films, that you could watch on a Sunday afternoon.
It makes me sad that so many people hate this movie :-(. I actually love it. I know nostalgia is partly to blame, but I grew up watching this movie a lot. My family, mainly my brother and I, loved watching this together.

It all checks out, it makes sense.
It's kinda weird, but I actually liked this more than "Bruce Almighty," though I do like the first film too. The writing's a little more juvenile, and things are a bit goofier in this story, but overall it's a decent film, particularly if you don't take it seriously. Plus, it still has some very funny moments.
