Weird use of Doctor Manhattan. Dude was walking surface of sun and flies to Mars and they use him to fight in Vietnam

Like that dude could teleport to any place in Solar System, go to other Galaxies. Tell humanity every secret of Universe and space. Help it build colonies on Mars, Europa and others.

And all they used him was to be in that team that fights criminals...

Not to mention he could cure cancer of his colleagues in split second. He could find cure for every decease. He could build Iphones and flying cars. Dude knew and could everything. And none of it was used.

But it's those people in government should have ask him about Space stuff. He literally could build cities on mars in a second. He could bring supplies, teleport astronauts.

That's a plot hole from comics. They wanted him in Team of superheroes. So he was there. When he should have done more interesting stuff with his powers.

He does do more things in the comics.

He is only briefly used by the US government as a superhero, mostly as a publicity stunt, but his presence does impact technology; basically all cars in the Watchmen world are electric, for one, because he makes their mass production and use feasible.

He does more things like that in the comics. Plus he has free will. If he doesn't want to do something or tell us the secrets of the universe he won't.
