Can you block avada kadavra

We have seen that spells can be blocked. Does that mean that the killing curse could also be blocked. For example, when dumbldore and voldemort were about to face off, voldemort could not just use the killing curse because dumbldore would just block it, is this correct?

Think Bartemius Crouch Junior(posing as Alastor Moody) already explained it during his first Dark Arts course; no counter curse and no blocking... but something's off.

Cannot "counter" Avada Kedavra; but they used to have items that can manipulate Element Time, which is one of the six Prime Elements of the universe - which means they don't need magic to counter Avada Kedavra, they could just overwrite Time itself with it.

Cannot "block" Avada Kedavra; not magically, maybe - even using the ancient sacrificial protection magic somebody still has to die to make this countermeasure work. But there were instances that the spell were blocked via physical means, i.e. behind medium to heavy covers, so... magic ain't AP bullets, eh?

Come to think of it, magic is really weird here.

Avada Kedavra is a spell based on pure hatred. Only love can beat hatred, and Lily's love for her son was so great that she sacrificed herself for him, her love acting as a shield against the spell. But no, nothing else can stop Avada Kedavra.

A brick wall can. Try Avada Kedavra-ing physics. LOL😁

With everyone said I still don't know if it can be blocked.

lmfao.
This thread is just a series of people interpreting the word block differently.

By definition, the spell cannot be blocked. But in the context this was explained, they're talking about magical blocks. Like a magical shield or a deflection of some sort. There's no spell that can reverse it. Obviously, if an object or a phoenix is in front of a target, the spell is going to hit the object or the phoenix that is in front of the target.

The various exceptions here were all fully explained in the source material (dual core wands, sacrifice enchantment, etc.)

Yes, with the Abracadabra spell.
