Carla Gugino As Lois Lane

As Robert Rodriguez said on the Sin City commentary.

reply

That would have worked!

reply

She can not only played a snarky woman but she's also a dashing leading lady. Partnering Routh with a more mature actress would've worked for him better.

reply

Good point and I agree. Bosworth felt out of place in that role, especially with this Lois being a mom.

reply

Bosworth was like 22 years old at the time, she looked like a 15 year old school girl than a fearless reporter, she doesn't have that tough edge that Margot Kidder had or that tough edge you need for Lois. Gugino looks like she could play a mother who could yank her son out of bed.

reply

Gugino has that nice curvy frame that Erica Durance has, Bosworth doesn't have that, she has the body of a 14 year old and doesn't have that beauty that they have.

reply

Gugino looks like she can play a bantering Lois which was something missing from SR, Clark and Lois banter is kind of a must with them, here she just feels like a generic girl next door or actress playing a role that we've seen brought to a classic status before.

reply

That's another good point. It's almost like this was the "generic" Superman movie. Reliable, but mostly bland and flavorless.

reply

Lois & Clark, TAS and Smallville had their classic banter but you don't get that with SR or MOS.

By the time the Clois/Blur seasons of Smallville everyone had just forgotten about SR Lois at that point.

reply

Could definitely see that!

reply

She can played a snarky woman and is incredibly attractive.

reply

Would've been a great choice for SR, can imagine her as Lois with similar shorter hairdo as Sin City ,

ironically she did appear in Man of Steel! (voice)

reply

She looks like the kind of woman who could kick somebody in the balls. The bob cut could work for her. She could play a Margot Kidder or Dana Delany type.

reply

So much better than who they chose.

reply

The movies in the last twenty years had this miscasting spot with Lois and god if there was no better example of miscasting than Kate Bosworth.
