Looks promising

Could be the trailer just doing it's job..
But I'm optimistic about this one..

Same. Other than the introduction of Cole, they seem to be sticking close to the game. At least at first glance.

Though that "Get over Here!" was fairly weak. They may want to edit that in post.

I still don't get why the need to shoehorn Cole. Why not just use Johnny Cage? Or even Liu Kang for the main character. Hell, Jax would also fit for a protag.

Agreed. I had very low expectations considering the first time director(Simon McQuoid), producer of countless mediocre comedy movies(Todd Garner)and an unknown cast, but this trailer has put it at the top of my want list.

There was an interview with the director about the trailer and he seems like a very intelligent guy with an understanding of the source material.

The trailer showcases well done action choreography with good backgrounds, set pieces and effects. Sub Zero appears menacing and badass. Looks like they did him justice. I'm not thrilled about Scorpion's outfit or his lackluster voice but we'll see. Kano might be a highlight, it seems he might be a humorous anti-hero.

My biggest concern is the script. We didn't get a lot of dialogue and what we did get outside of game placements and humor seems corny/lame in a very CW show way. Another concern is the new character Cole. While I don't mind a new character I don't see the point with an already fully populated base to pull from. Also, this story is probably going to rotate around him and yet they didn't show him saying or doing much of anything in the trailer.

Man, I called this fairly well just based on the trailer.

Needs Shao Kang

Agreed. This may break the curse.
