Worst film of Julianne Moore's career?

I decided to watch this based solely on her name in the cast info. Moore's always a guarantee of decent movie quality - Right? Well NO. I don't know how much she was paid to lower herself to the level of this "film - but it wasn't enough!

Legitimately one of the worst I've ever seen.
The only purpose of David Duchovny / Orlando Jones double act: "HA HA. I'm white and you're black. HA HA. How hilarious!" It takes an impressive level of garbage to produce a film where Seann William Scott actually gives one the BETTER performances. And WTF was going on with Ted Levine's moustache?

The characters were so one-dimensional I'm surprised they didn't completely disappear from view. Primary school kids could have wrote a better script. The attempted humour was excruciating. Even the one good aspect (cool visuals for the aliens) fell on it's ass with the blue apes looking like something from 1960's Doctor Who. And I don't buy for one second the idea that they were aiming for a 'self-deprecating spoof.' This was utter crap, from the lame beginning to the truly pathetic ending.

In what world is Julianne Moore's presence any kind of assurance of quality?

Nine Months, Assassins, Surviving Picasso, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Psycho, Hannibal... All came before this, and all were garbage.

Well yes - obviously every actor has some roles that are better than others. But on the whole I think Moore has good consistency with quality of her films - and she has been in many truly brilliant films. This was just atrociously bad.

Actually, I like it. I remember it being the first film that really made me recognize Moore (I was 14 at the time.) Probably because she was one of the best things about it--the main draw being the aliens themselves and their, well, evolution. Duchovny's cool, too, of course.

By far her worst.

You and that turd Nicolo are both Oscar bait retards if you're not playing gay, transgender, suicidal, white or owned by whites you're not worth crap as an actor in your retarded corpse brain.

Based on what? My opinion of this one film?

This movie is a classic.

Kingsman: Golden Circle wasn't out at the time that the OP wrote his opinion. Her performance in that is FAR worse.

This.

I think she did a great job, playing a fun character in a fun movie.

A lot of this movie grossed me out, as well as making my roll my eyes or cringe, due to the bad writing. The deal-breaker was the giant alien amoeba anus scene. The phrase "DON'T YOU TELL ANYONE WHERE I'VE BEEN!!!!!!" is a great reference for this.

It makes me wonder if some creepy teenage boy with a fetish for gross things wrote the script for this movie.
