I can't believe no one noticed this glaring error

Ewan Macgregor sings Your Song by Ellie Golding but this song wasn't written until 2010 whereas Moulin Rouge is supposed to be set in Shakespearean times!

What the hell were they thinking??

Here's the proof if you don't believe me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9AFMVMl9qE

Waaaaaaa look out, everyone! It's The Jelly Monster!!!

That's because It was done on purpose? All the songs are more modern songs.

I guess you are being sarcastic lol and you really know Your Song was originally sung by Elton John in 1970 and wasn't by Ellie Goulding also the film MOULIN rouge was released in 2001 9 years before Ellie Goulding released her version of Your song lol.

Factoid: The information about Your Song's orig writer/performer, Elton John, is available within this very IMDB page. It's under the Soundtrack heading. All the songs are there.
I just thought I'd let you know.
Merry Christmas!
(BTW:This is one of my favorite movies!)

Ummm Your song was originally written by Elton John in the early to mid 70s. Ellie gouldings version is a cover.

reply

I didn't even know that Ellie Goulding covered it until I saw this post.

reply

Ummm.....I thought this movie took place in the 1899, not the 1500s. There's a huge difference between the 2 time periods, never mind the songs.
