Charmed Being Redeveloped by The CW for Next Season 2018

The younger-skewing network has opted to roll development on its high-profile adaptations of Charmed and The Lost Boys to next season, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

With little room on its schedule, the network is sticking with six pilot orders this season — even with last year. While neither The Lost Boys nor Charmed were among the orders, both hail from important producers to the network in Rob Thomas (iZombie) and Jennie Snyder Urman (Jane the Virgin).

Sources say the Charmed draft — penned by Jane the Virgin writers Jessica O'Toole and Amy Rardin — didn't come in the way the network had hoped and that Urman, who remains busy wrapping up the third season of the Gina Rodriguez critical darling, didn't have the proper time to commit to it this season. Urman will take on a larger role in retooling Charmed for next season once she's out of the woods on showrunning Jane...

There's more, but that's it as far as Charmed is concerned.

I'm sure the fans' outcry about them using the name "Charmed" for something that has little to do with Charmed has a lot to do with this...

Despite what this says, hopefully if they do decide to do this show next season and it stays this way, they won't call it Charmed.

Think they using the name Charmed to get input and noticed, and that to me will not make me check out or even want to watch, but they are getting the wanted attention it would seem.

HI JustEs, not on as much, and I do miss seeing what you type. And from what I see at the top of this, copy and paste

This kinda thing is going to go, and that kinda makes me sad. Despite agreeing or disagreeing, being able to "talk" and discuss differences and ideas here was nice.

I am not sure if you and a few others are on anything else like this, as when i have more time again would love to be able to see what all those who had ideas whether they were the same or different, that was what made this good.

If anyone can let me know where I will be able to see and at times join in, to continue to see how others feel and see this show and other shows too as that at times can make watching a show seem different as you see it the way or not as someone else does, or even see something missed.

Will make a point to check here over next couple weeks as I would love to touch base every once in a while with others from Charmed and Buffy and Merlin, Angel...

less I is reading that message wrong

I can't imagine this being anything but crap.

The Munsters 'reimaging' was horrible. It actually made me long for the 'Munsters Today' which did use costumes and makeup.

Mockingbird Lane looked like something a jr high would have put out.
