About the campiness of the film

Guys.. when someone says a movie is campy generaly means negative points. But one of the things I love the most in Sam Raimi Spidey flicks is the campiness. Because there a point where the campiness ceases to be bad and becames an extra charm.

Now I understand everybodys problems with Spider-Man 3 and I agree with many of them. But the camp factor in the films is just a blast.. yes.. even in 3.. because the movie does not take itself too seriously..

To me campiness always means to be a positive thing. It makes films superior in quality, I rarely watch films that are not campy. I think most filmmakers strive to make their films campy, why wouldn't they.

Spider-Man is a campy character. He's known for his zany one-liners and colorful villains. While there is still an element of tragedy and real-world problems in his personal life, it's always a contrast to his stranger nightlife as a superhero. The campiness fits.

I agree. There's a point where campy can become cheesy, such as with the 1960's Batman television show and the horrible Schumacher movies of the late 1990's. The Rami Spider-man movies never seem to go that far, they are just campy enough to make them silly in a fun way that doesn't detract from the story.

Nailed it, nailer!

The 60s/70s Spider-Man comics were campy and the movie was true to that.
My favorite Marvel movie!
