It's not Kristen's fault, but is the male writers and the director's fault.

I don't see how the character was really bad or that different from the comics. Her dating Harry despite not really liking him was bad but not terrible.

I'm not sure how she could have been much closer to the comics without involving a lot more plot.

I loved that she dated Harry even though she didn't like him. It shows that she has no self esteem and so, at the end, when she gives her speech, it makes more sense. She's grown. I love both the character AND Kirsten's performance. Same with Flash, she probably didn't like him and he was pretty much as abusive as her father.

It's a film centered around a super hero. MJ is a supporting character at best.
Sure, she's spidey's love interest, but she's supposed to look good and scared, and Kirsten did both impeccably.
The film as a whole did not require any solid acting chops.
Still, for what it's worth, my favorite superhero movie.

I liked her in this. It's really Spider-Man 2 and 3 that she becomes unlikable.

I liked her in SM 2. The third one had a number of issues, though.

Totally disagree. Kirsten pulled the character off great.
