Just watched it ..well done, I highly recommend it.

A in-depth psychoanalysis of the President and the challenger.

reply

I tried to watch it and turned it off after about 45 minutes. Clearly biased toward Joe Biden.

Seemed they went out of their way to present Joe as the principled man who doggedly fights his way through any obstacles placed in his path, while Trump is the man who apprently has done nothing in life but involve himself with shady characters and scandal.

I used to really like Frontline, but after this and a previous episode they did on guns it's hard to consider them an objective source.

reply

After the first hour it shows Bidens scandels also. His plagiarism, is ineptitude on the A Hill hearings, his calling Obama " a clean well spoken African American"

Some people might come away with thinking that Biden can be too wishy- washy to be a effective leader.

Trump can never be called wishy-washy.

The shows biggest omission is that it focused on character and didn't even mention policy.

People don't just vote on character.

reply

Perhaps i'll go back and finish it just to say I did. But now that you mention it, yes, I would also say that what I saw was entirely focused on character and not policy. It seemed they were just interested in presenting biographies.

To give credit where it's due, when it's good, Frontline is very effective journalism. But many episodes fail to be particularly interesting, and others do seem clearly biased in a way that is beneath such a prestigious program.

reply

Frontline does so many of these inside Washington politics docs I'll admit they've got the hang of them by now. I'll check this one out but if they still try to use quotes, black and white photos of the president in the oval office, plus a phone ringing in the background to create drama, I'll silently chuckle to myself.

reply

Stylistically you'll probably find it to be more of the same. But give it a look and come back and toss in your $0.02 and we'll see where you come down on it.
