Sandra Bullock was offered Neo before Keanu

Interesting new article. Didn't know Bullock was offered Neo

Also Pitt agreed to be Neo before Keanu (guess Pitt was bigger name than Keanu back then as post Speed Keanu was going from bomb to bomb) but then dropped out as he was too tired after 7Years in Tibet,.. wow how gutting must thatve been to then see The Matrix go on to be this critically acclaimed huge hit .. like another Blade Runner but hugely successful (Its strange to thing of anyone other than Keanu as he has that almost 'anime' look to him that The Matrix was heavily influenced by - still I guess the same could've been for Bullock and Pitt)

Also Arnie or Michael Douglas as Morphous?

I guess alot of stars offered roles turned it down as the directors weren't that known only for Bound and the script sounded something like Johnny Memonic 2

Clumsy Sandra Bullock? Oh that would have been a miscast.

I'm trying to imagine her with the sunglasses on and the serious face. Neo is losing all credibility in my mind with her portraying the character.

Ever interesting. I haven't heard this before.

Objectively, if Sanda Bullock was cast as Neo, the action scenes may possibly be a bit weak (not saying I'm correct); however, the kissing scenes and love story between Neo and Trinity would have very much been heightened, imho.
