I first thought Mickey called and killed her but it’s clear someone else is on the phone as you can see Ghostface sneaking in with no phone in hand, so it had to be Mrs Loomis but why would she want to be involved in the killing of a random college co Ed? Guessing Mickey must have demanded she help him with his murders in exchange for his helping her

Yes, the killer could not have been on the phone. Mickey was the psycho killer, so it makes sense Mrs. Loomis was the one calling.
Look, if she didn't involve herself at all, it would be pretty clear to him she was just using him as a scapegoat. And Mickey clearly wanted/needed her help, otherwise he wouldn't even have responded to her on that psycho website.
But Ghostface says "My pleasure" right before jumping out of the closet, implying that is the same one. So I've always chalked it up to just one being there and Ghostface not having a phone in the background as a continuity error.
