Is there anyone who has the courage to say this movie is stupid and sucks? I've tried watching TBL several times, and have seen many clips of it. I think this is the kind of movie that a big aggressive crowd acclaims greatness too that is not really that great ... kind of like Trump supporters.

I had the courage to say that until I actually watched it. I thought the trailer and commercials looked extremely stupid and lame, it looked like idiotic slapstick. I totally skipped it in theaters. Then it very quickly went to cable and I happened across a couple scenes here and there. "This doesn't seem anywhere near as stupid as the trailer made it look." Then I watched the whole thing and saw that it was one of the Coens' best. When someone doesn't like it, it means they are stupid and suck.

I am pretty sure it's intentionally stupid, it's not striving for anything too deep.
That's why it's actually deep. And I like it.

If you can find something stupid, good, well, then Hollywood loves you. A lot. Most movies and TV are made for you.
I do find lots of stupid stuff to be good, because IT IS.
Most Hollywood stuff of the past twenty years or so has been stupid AND bad.
Not that difficult to understand.
Just an example of movie I have recently watched that is good and I like, AND is also quite stupid: Body Double.
I don't think it takes much courage to simply say that this film doesn't appeal to you. It doesn't appeal to me either, I just watched it for a second time on a flight recently. I didn't like it the first time and my opinion didn't change the second time.
That's the thing with comedies in particular -- they either connect with you or they don't.
I did enjoy the cast, which made it bearable even for a film I didn't care for.
And I say that as a big fan of other Cohen brothers films.

Same here. I actually liked most of the cast members. But this type of humor just doesn't connect with me. Like when John Goodman's character smashed up the Corvette with a crowbar. Some people think that scene is hilarious, but I didn't see any humor in it.
This movie is stupid but it's awesome.
