dragged down by Zellweger

JM minus Zelweger is one of the absolute greatest movie I have ever seen about corporate politics. Mesmerizing really, too bad the romance sucked ass and had fewer sparks flying than a wet season jungle

Interesting. Thoughts on who should take her place? Bonnie Hunt? Lol.

Nobody. I wish they had left a ton of the romance out and focused on the agent life in the NFL. The scenes that were interesting to me were the struggling agent and the difficulties in working with players and major agencies.

The love scenes were all annoying and I usually skip em'.

You'd be better off watching documentaries then. A huge part of the plot was the relationship Rod had with his wife, and how it contrasted to what Jerry had with Dorothy. It was actually more of a love story than it was about the goings on behind the scenes with sports contracts. The penultimate scene was Jerry realizing his love for Dorothy and winning her back in front of her friends, not Rod's TV appearance and contract reveal.

I've seen Moneyball a few times, and I always like that it is strictly about baseball and the business of it. Brad Beane does have a personal life, and his relationship with his daughter is much bigger than with his ex-wife, but that's one thing I like about the movie. It's a somewhat serious look at a guy's life in baseball, without a lot of predictable movie junk.
So I can see someone wanting to have a movie dedicated to the agent and not the romance. And I do think the movie was more entertaining during the agent parts, but it's pretty good as a whole. Zelly isn't so gorgeous that we get distracted by it. It's a sweet little movie, with a lot of energy -- and cameos !

this isn't really a movie about agent. kind of like raging bull which is not a boxing movie.

You should like Any given Sunday then. Although it has Cameron Diaz, she is no one's love interest - just the villain.

That’s why al and Jamie both kick her right in her um like .., you know

No romance would mean that it wouldn't be a Cameron Crowe film. Cameron Crowe is known for his blantant sentimentality.
