"Mirror"..."Reflective glass"...Error...

I'm surprisingly a fan of this goofball movie. I'm certainly more of a fan of, say, Oppenheimer than I am, say, I don't know, The Avengers, so a movie like this typically isn't down my alley. But still, I like this movie way more than I should!

Anyway, during a re-watch, I noticed that at one point in the movie, Jeanne Tripplehorn's character said to Costner's character "You have things on this boat nobody has ever seen before..." then she mentioned a couple things and one of the things she mentioned was "reflective glass", as she had trouble coming up with the words to describe an item she's never seen before, in this case a mirror.

But I also recall a conversation with her talking to Costner about Enola drawing on the boat...she says something to the effect of "She draws what she sees, she's just like a mirror." Wait a minute...now she knows what a mirror is?!?

Little bit of a goof/error there I do believe!

I’m a big fan of this movie too. It’s undoubtedly underrated

the show at Universal is even better than the movie

The best performance in the film was Tina Majorino as Enola, in my opinion.

Wouldn't it be fun when in a world where nobody knows anymore what a real mirror looks like, the metaphorical meaning has survived?

I guess so

That could well be it!
