This movie is not good

I just watched The Crow for the first time after meaning to for years. I had no expectations so it wasn't a let down or anything. But I want to explain my thoughts and see if anyone else felt the same way or what anyone else's opinion is.

I found the movie to be goofy even though it was trying to be serious. It has some horribly cheesy lines (which I enjoyed laughing at but still probably wasn't intentional).

The effects have aged pretty badly, though I tried to ignore that and instead put myself back in a 90s mindset. Though, they definitely didn't help.

The characters were nobodies with no real depth. They just had some silly lines and fake-feeling relationships that didn't make me feel anything for them. The cop just believes that Eric was invincible because he told him he was and I'm pretty sure he saw no proof of this until the end of the movie.

I just didn't buy Eric's relationship with the young girl. The movie TOLD ME to care. But it didn't actually make me care at all.

Eric also had these fun/funny killer moments and lines that didn't really match the dark tone or match how angry I thought he was supposed to be.

The plot has simply been done before and after and better. He kills a bunch of guys and eventually fights the main bad guy. He loses his powers when the crow is killed... but then the crow isn't really dead... and he kinda still has his powers, but also doesn't have them...? What?

There was nothing special about this movie to me, at all. Its just there.

The idea and dark look are great and I hope the remake finally happens. I feel like they'll actually get it right this time.
