Oldman owned the show in a movie full of awesome characters.

I don't know whether to complain that Oldman's role was sized down too much or just appreciate that "less is more", but man he made that character his bitch and it just proves how awesome an actor he is. He definitely stood out amongst great performances by Slater, Arquette, Walken, Hopper, Gandolfini and even Brad Pitt was memorable in a very small role. I love this movie to the hills even though I don't think it's perfect, but then again what movie is?

Drexl was the best character in the film, and his interaction with Slater was the best scene in the film. I'm pretty sure Oldman had something to do with that.

He must have thought it was white boy day. It ain't white boy day, is it?

reply

Naw man it ain't white boy day!

I didn't like his performance. Way OTT and ridiculous. I guess he's supposed to be QT since he likes to pretend he's black.

Oldman was awesome . He embodied wigger.

gary oldman is an overactor. im sorry. he over act in every film i see him in. his worst being state of grace.

it is ok to over act if you still make your character likable. but he is terrible over actor.

reply

I’m sorry to say, but you are ass backward wrong about Oldman. He acts up a storm in justly about every film he’s in. One of the best of all time.

reply

have you seen state of grace? sean penn and ed harris own this film, so measure and subtle, and every scene gary oldman come in he just overact. he does not just chew scenery, he eat it, too!

Oldman has his particular approach to acting, which you're of course free to dislike. He is, however, one of the most respected actors in Hollywood, both among critics and fellow actors. Like atd8vii, I consider him one of the greatest actors ever to grace the silver screen.
