Do US marshals really shoot to kill unarmed fugitives?

Is Tommy Lee Jones character a psychopath or something?

Dr Kimball was neither armed nor dangerous, yet he fired multiple shots at him with the intent to kill.

Is this normal in the USA?

reply

SHOOTING PEOPLE IS FUN.

reply

It's all fun and games until they roll the cell door shut.

reply

THERE IS A DECENT AMOUNT OF FUN AND GAMES ONCE THE CELL DOOR SHUTS.

reply

If the criminal refuses to stop the law enforcement person should be able to.

reply

Tommy Lee Jones Charector was told and believed Dr. Kimble was an escaped murderer, and was considered dangerous, and could have been armed at any time after the train wreck

So they allow murderers to walk around in your country un hindered, waiting to shoot some officer?

reply

He had no history of targetting law enforcement or members of the public, and was running away, had no weapon visible, wasn't threatening anyone.

I guess in America, that's considered fair game.

reply

IF you have a reputation for murdering someone I'd say yes ---- probably not so in the 3rd world country you're from

reply

Let's say it matters(it doesn't) if he had a target or not. He was going around trying to find the right person with a prosthetic arm. For all they knew he intended to kill that person.

Speaking of the UK, that is the only place I have ever seen posters telling people not to assault paramedics. Loony Limeys are attacking medics enough for them to plaster those posters around.

Too bad self defense is essentially illegal there.

reply

They never "shoot to kill", they shoot to stop the threat. An escaped murderer is going to be considered a major threat and doing anything other than surrendering with hands raised will put him at risk of being shot.

Is this your 1st time seeing this movie considering this was posted 3 years ago?? US Marshals will do whatever it takes to bring their Bounty they're hunting in, dead or alive, so YES.. The U.S Marshals are no one to fuck with

reply

The Marshalls do not receive a bounty. You are thinking of bounty hunters.

U.S. Marshalls have a lot more jurisdictional and physical force leeway, but they are not above the law.
