Cliffhanger is one of my favourite action movies, I don't think it needs to be remade. But I'm not really against remakes. I think it's always fun to see what they do differently. Ok most of the time remakes suck but we still have the original to go back to.
shareI am not against remakes out of hand. As you say, the original film will always exist, which is the sensible observation to make. A remake does not affect the original film in any way.
I'm not even saying that this film won't be good. It's certainly possible that it could still be entertaining.
But my question is: Why? What is the impulse to remake beloved male-fronted films with "strong female leads?"
It will be interesting to see how financially successful this one ends up being.
so is the sex of every character reversed?
[spoiler]panicky bloke dies at the start at the hands of[/spoiler] 2 expert mountain rescue females , who then go on to fight a bunch of bloodthirsty female robbers and their male helicopter pilot?
Males are evil.
