Most irritating episodes....

Secret admirer s6 e7 is one that really irks me.

Frasier is a self absorbed ass much of the time but this time he really out does himself.

It starts with Frasier and a woman named Nancy on a date. So where does Frasier meet her for a real private date? Nervosa! Then he gets all bothered when Roz and Niles have the gall to also be there and to talk to him. They are only there every day.

Then Frasier noticed an anonymous gift when playing squash at the gym and starts making phone calls to women he had dated in the past. Niles asks why since he seems to have something good going with Nancy but Frasier's ego gets the best of him.

Even if you never seen the episode you know how it turns out for Frasier. He ends up with nobody ruining it with Nancy.

Another real irritating moment occurs when Niles realizes the gifts are for him and wonders if they are not from Daphne. His dad brings him back to reality and Niles eventually realizes they are from Maris.

There is little in the episode that is actually funny. I guess it's funny watching Frasier fail in yet another relationship.

When Roz meets the big nosed parents of the guy who impregnated her. Genuinely awful, "Everyone knows you're the nosy one!", that's most of the episode, bad puns where someone says something that sounds like nose, over and over and over and it isn't even the last bit funny the first time. If I owned the rights to the show and a network wanted to air it I'd refuse to sell them the rights to air that episode, because it's an abomination and a disgrace to the entire show, I would see it as an act of kindness to all of mankind and not care that I made slightly less money.

Other than that episode every episode of the show is watchable, even though there are obviously worse and better among them as well, but that damn episode... Whatever is the second to worst episode (of the top of my head, maybe the one where they go a cabin and dream stuff that upsets them) is still 1000 times better.

There were quite a few irritating eps in the later seasons, but the one that came to mind immediately was the one where Frasier is volunteering for a habitat for humanity type charity. His obsession with that house was nonsensical, repetitive and unfunny.

One more I thought of is when Niles liked Poppy and thought Frasier did also. The ones with misunderstandings like that can be funny, but they were just so unbelievably stupid in that one I couldn't enjoy it.

Good choices. I felt the same way.

I think that habitat house one is supposed to be irritating. Frasier being irritatingly a self absorbed ass.

The Niles-Poppy, Frasier-Regan debacle was over the top. 2 psychiatrists with no intuition and no ability to read behavior and emotions. Perhaps had Niles just been honest about Regan being a patient that would have helped.

I can understand the habitat house episode better after I was retired, when people have no hardship and annoyances, and too much free time, things like that can happen, small annoyances can get magnified, you can become obsessed over the smallest things. I kind of understand now.

On the Niles-Poppy, Frasier-Regan debacle, Niles could not have said anything, due to the fact of doctor patience confidentiality. Regan being a patient is also protected by that.

The Habitat for humanity house was irritating and in many ways it was supposed to be that way. It is Frasier being Frasier.

A couple standout in my mind, even without looking them up. One was where they were in the basement parking lot having trouble with the meter. The other one, which is god awful, is a post 2000 episode where Niles is in the hospital with heart problems. Shortly after that episode even Kelsey Grammar admitted they needed better writers.

Frasier was such a great show but I agree with one entertainment reporter who said they should have shut down the series after Niles and Daphne hooked up..which I believe was at the end of season 6 or 7.

Season 10(2002-2003) - OUCH

The second half of season 10 was better with the introduction of the Julia Wilcox(Felicity Huffman) character. One of my all time favorite episodes is e2 s11 when Frasier dumps Julia after she makes fun of his new hand towels.

'Slow Tango in South Seattle'- terrible episode in my opinion.

I just started watching Frasier again and I had forgotten that this episode was the opener for season two. It was not funny the first time I saw it and even worse this time. I don't know why they chose to open the season with something so unfunny and grating on the nerves too (at least it grated on MY nerves!).

It didn't make much sense for Frasier to go totally ballistic and crazy because his old friend used his (Frasier's) first sexual experience as the basis for his novel and didn't give him credit.

I know many teen-age boys would've enjoyed that experience with an older woman, as Frasier surely did, but it's so creepy on so many levels and illegal to boot.

Martin was paying the woman to give his son piano lessons, not to indulge her own desires and take advantage of a child who was also her student!

I used to teach school and this whole topic leaves me feeling disgusted. You don't seduce your students. It is creepy.
