I mean how did the audience think that Daphne dating and almost marrying Donnie could actually happen in this universe. He was so gross. And even though Roz was a loose woman, how could she have dated Donnie also? Whenever that portion of the show reruns, I just hate seeing the episodes he is in.

I did not like the Simon character. I was extremely irked that Martin a guy who worked hard all his life was so friendly and tolerant of a lazy lay about. He even invites him to steal one of Frasier's Armani suits WTF?
I thought Daphne's family was a bit over the top. That out of all those brothers not a one was normal and successful though today we consider gay(Brother Billy) as normal. Isn't there a joke about Billy meeting a boyfriend in jail? Shocking really that this show was quite popular in the UK. Daphne's entire English family are despicable people.

shareMore unbelievable that Roz dated Donnie. Roz would be more superficial about looks. Roz likes the hunk frat boy types and gets pregnant by a kid 15 years her junior. Daphne comes from a weird family of crooks, lay-abouts and deplorable people. She perhaps has a more mature approach to life and could appreciate a charming man with less than ideal looks.
Also Donny was very successful. That never hurts.
I don't care how successful someone is, if I have the looks, I will eventually find someone who is successful and at least looks like he showered. Yes, and Roz dating Donnie is even more perplexing that Daphne.

Daphne did date some handsome men. Joe was a good looking guy and her ex from Manchester was a good looking guy. She also talks about a pretty boy type that was not very smart but you never see him.
