What's your rating for Fire Walk with Me?

10/10 for me, despite the flaws it might have, I have never seen anything like it. Truly a remarkable film and a superb performance by Sheryl Lee.

10/10 here too.

A 10. It's one of Lynch's best films.

I'd like to give it a Spinal Tap rating of "11" if I could, too, just because it seems to piss-off most people who call themselves fans of Twin Peaks-the series. They may rightfully claim to be fans of the tv show, but by not liking this film they prove themselves to not be fans of David Lynch.

Rating when I saw it on VHS in the 90s, without ever seeing TP: 1/10.
Rating after I watched it right after binging through season 1 and 2 this week: 4/10.

Hard to rate it as one would a typical movie.

The biggest fault I can see so far in TP (I haven't seen the return yet) is that season 1, season 2 and FWWM all felt like the same/similar characters in alternate universes. The same characters seem to behave totally differently - I can't imagine Donna from season 1 acting like Donna in FWWM, at all. (Not to mention how different Audrey seems from season 1 to season 2, despite that it's supposed to be days apart. Tho that doesn't concern FWWM.) Even just visually, FWWM is shot quite differently and lacks the orange soap opera-like skintones of the series. It feels like a different directors take on the same universe.

On the old one to five star scale, I rate it "two". By the time it was released the Twin Peaks craze had died out, its poor reviews and dismal box office performance (cost ten million to make, pulled in four million) said it all.

10/10, absolute masterpiece. Lynch is a genius.
