Why the hell would they wanna bring Gus back?

Its not like they killed him, he was clearly killed by a dog attack, and Drew finally gets rid of him. Not to mention right before getting killed he was about to bash Drew with a giant wooden cross and who knows how far was gonna go with it. Yet immediately they think its a good idea to bring him back to life even after seeing how Zowey turned out.

Yeah my dog came back as a vicious killing machine with glowing eyes, yeah lets bring back my violent asshole stepdad and see how that turns out.

Lol...I was thinking the exact same thing. Why on earth, out of all people, would you bring Gus back to life?? But still, I'm glad they did, because it made the movie more entertaining. Even though Gus was a terrible person, his character was vital for the story. The movie wouldn't have been the same without him.

He would have come back to life anyways, but the scar across his throat would have been much, much larger than the one he already had from Ramirez' sword.

I always interpreted it in two ways:

1. They were under the spell of the supernatural entity around the place.. much like with the dad in the other two movies once he buried the cat and lost Gage he wasn't acting clearly and was under the spell of that demon, same case here.

and

2. They were scared to death and didn't know better.. for all they knew they were gonna get in trouble for it. Granted there's no way the law could proved they killed Gus because you could tell an animal killed him, but if they wanted to do so they could claim they instigated Zowie to attack him and they could get charged with say Manslaughter. Also I'm sure they didn't want Drew's mom to suffer too much.

I loved how they teased he would return good then all of a sudden he flipped and went full Kurrgan on everyone, it was genius!

Agree with this, moreso with #2. I felt they thought it was the 'right' thing to do and didn't want to get into any trouble.
