Could anyone understand what they were saying?

Maybe it's a good movie, but I have no idea, since I could only understand about 25%
of what they were saying, due to their thick accents.

Also, did anyone else think that Wendy, Andy and Aubrey were all goofs, and Nicola was
a total bitch?

I understood all of it.

As for your second paragraph, I agree. Nicola got really annoying with her squeaky voice.

Are you British?

No.

Well you obviously have a better talent than I in understanding the various British accents and slang.

I understood it all. It was a good film though it's a long time since I watched it. And yes, I'm British.

That's what I figured. We Americans have difficulty trying to understand the various British dialects and slang, especially
those of the lower classes as in this film.

To be fair there are some American accents that I can't follow - Holly Hunter can leave me completely baffled.

It's good to know that we're not the only ones who have that problem. She did a southern accent in Raising Arizona (one of my favorites). Are southern American accents difficult for you?

I think it is the fast talking southern accents that are difficult. They seem to bite off half of each word and it sounds like turkey gobble to my ears.

Same thing happens to me when I hear some of the British accents. As Henry Higgins said:

Turn on the closed captions. Not ideal, but sometimes unavoidable, if you want to understand everything.
