Not aged well, overrated

I used to watch this one on VHS all the time as a kid and loved it. I've tried giving it new chances once a year around Christmastime and it has never impressed me as an adult. the premise is just too ridiculous for me to buy, at least in the way the movie portrays it. These parents are insanely stupid. The crooks are equally as stupid. The 2nd act of the movie is very slow and you can tell they're just buying time so they can get to the big ending scene. I also don't think Culkin is all that good even as far as child actors go.

It is well made and John Williams's music is excellent but I don't see much else to praise it about.

It became a Christmas classic.

The only part that hasn't aged well in my opinion is Kevin sliding down the stairs and on the ice rink while going "woooooooaaaaaaaah".

Weird how generations still watch it today if it hasn't "aged well". Seems more like you just don't like movie anymore. More a case of YOU having aged, instead of the movie.

You just outgrew it. There are plenty of movies and TV shows that I enjoyed years ago that I can no longer watch. But, I still like Home Alone. It's supposed to be a little campy and silly. The music is great.

To each their own. I hate popular films like The Godfather, A Clockwork Orange, Raging Bull, Scarface, Casino, and Lost in Translation. And before accusing me of hating dramas, I like One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Driving Miss Daisy, Shawshank Redemption, and Forrest Gump.

I think it has aged well. It is still fun and entertaining.

Nonstop, jam-packed, fun-to-fun. The crooks were mad more than stupid, they acted easy
