I absolutely love this dark fantasy action packed comedy. The atmosphere, the sets, the fight against cloaked villains akin to your favorite dungeons and dragons sessions. The lead is hilarious and endearing, he reminds me of Jack Black doing action vs minions of darkness.

But it's not just funny, it actually has nice looking sets and costumes and props and even special effects and one of the b movie legends Richard Harrison. If you enjoyed this movie I recommend a YouTube channel called Raging Dragon. That guy uploads only b action movies or worse there that are really funny.

I would love to get some background of the making of this and The Aftermath (1982). I don’t think these were made tongue in cheek, as they seem so serious.
My friend likes to smoke pot and watch these kind of b movies with me so we get a good laugh. I don't smoke and I watch them sober so what does that say about my mental state? If Steve Barkett made 20 movies I would watch all 20. But he only made 2, I guess it was exhausting to do everything and he was doing everything in those movies including playing an action star with a physique of a middle aged store clerk. I will make a purposely bad movie in near future if I'm alive where I will use all the knowledge I learned here.
shareThere was a little tongue and cheek comedy written in, but mostly a serious fantasy action movie. Very entertaining. The ending was awesome. I was cheering for the good guys at the end. It's a shame this was this was Steve Barkett's second and final movie. He acted in quite a few movies, but this was his last one directing. I watched both in the last 2 days and they were both highly entertaining and the sets, visuals, music, dialogue were all really entertaining.
