How long were the parents gone for?

How long were the parents gone for? I do noticed they seemed to be gone longer than just a week.

i don';t think it's ever clearly stated, is it?

"He must've thought it was white boy day. It ain't white boy day, is it?"

reply

they did say that they were gonna be gone for a few days but they do seem to have been gone for at least over a week

agreed...gotta figure her dad was in the hospital for at least a couple of days after the heart attack.

It was one week. The girl said something to Buck’s girlfriend, “He really has changed over the last week”

I do believe the scene with Miles' birthday and the scene where Buck shows Bug the hatchet had to take place during the weekend, I also thought the bowling scene had to take place on a Friday night.

It feels like ages, but yeah, considering it was still snowing by the end of the film, I think it was at most, a week, maybe two weeks.

The mom thought they would be back before Miles birthday, but obviously they weren't. I'm guessing somewhere between 10-14 days.

Here is the timeline when I felt the events took place.

The beginning scene along with the dinner scene was likely on a Tuesday or a Wednesday

The scene where Buck and Chanice were having dinner together was likely on a Wednesday night

The scene where Cindy's father had a heart attack likely happened in the wee hours of Thursday morning

The scene where Buck first starts doing laundry was likely on a Friday

The scene where they went bowling was likely on a Friday night

The scene with Miles' birthday was likely on a Saturday

The scene where they go pick up Tia was most likely on a Saturday or Sunday night

The scene where Buck confronts the vice principal was likely either on a Tuesday or a Wednesday

The scene where Buck calls Chanice telling him that he misses her was definitely on a Wednesday night

The scene where Chanice confronts Buck about him dancing with Marcie was definitely on a Thursday

The scene where Buck tries to take the kids to a racetrack along with him finding Tia was definitely on a Friday night

The scene where the parents arrive home was likely on a Saturday.

I counted 10 days that Buck was at his brother's house. I would go with that.
