Hogan’s appearance — he looked too old, he had to wear du-rags to cover his hairline, and romance scenes (like the ones with Samantha in this movie) were too awkward with the hulkster
shareI AM A LIFELONG HULKAMANIAC...I GREW UP ON THE GUY...I OWN ALL HIS FILMS...THAT SAID....THE REASON HE DID NOT TAKE OFF LIKE DWAYNE JOHNSON IS SIMPLE...HOGAN HAS EXTREMELY LIMITED ACTING ABILITY...WHILE I WILL AGREE WITH SOME OF HIS DETRACTORS THAT JOHNSON HAS NOT CHOSEN FILMS OR ROLES THAT STRETCH HIS TALENTS OR CLIMB INTO THAT NEXT LEVEL OF CINEMA...THE GUY HAS UNDENIABLE TALENT AND CHARISMA.
sharethis is the real reason. hulk is great at being hulk, but he really can't do nearly any other role. that, and his agent must've hated his guts with some of the movies he did (suburban commando, santa with muscles, mr. nanny, 3 ninjas, etc)

shareHe’s not as good of an actor as Johnson, Cena, Bautista or even Piper. All four of those guys have or had acting chops to one degree or another whether it’s Bautista being an honest-to-god good actor who can do drama or Piper knowing how to lay on the cheese for the goofy little b-movies he did.
Hulkster never had that sort of charisma, nor did Jesse Ventura or other wrestlers who tried to act. I’m not exactly sure what it is that most lack but a few have. Oddly enough, Cena started off being a terrible actor but got better over time IMO. So maybe it’s something that could be learned.
