williams should have won the oscar for dead poets society

this movie is forgotten

I disagree... while I haven’t seen it for many years, I remember many moments of this film, and Day-Lewis’s great performance, vividly. I don’t think it’s a forgotten film at all.

The vast majority of Oscar winning movies are forgotten. The only reason people remember the movie 'How Green Was My Valley' is because it beat Citizen Kane that year. Most people don't know anything about it other than that part. Katharine Hepburn has the most individual Oscar wins. How many can name a single movie she won for? Meryl Streep has not starred (as main role) for any movie with any longevity fame other than maybe Sophie's Choice. Yet she has 3 Oscars. The Shape of Water won just a few years ago for best movie and even that has started to become forgotten.

I could go on and on.

No it's not. But I do think it's one of those films you only want to watch once - which is a category quite a few Oscar winners fall in to.

You do understand that the best actor oscar is given for the best performance not the best film?
