Post movie world...

After scores of people inexplicably flock to Iowa and after Terrence Mann returns and writes about his experiences...

That means the afterlife undeniably confirmed.

This changes religions, culture, and society on a large scale. The Kinsellas become some sort of neo-religious leaders.

I hope John Kinsella is happy he changed the course of history for a catch.

Dude, it wasn't just any catch, it was his dad.

I hope they were smart enough to build a gift shop to sell Kinsella swag. Oh, and hot dogs..

Jesus... I never thought about the implications.

This movie is outright confirmation that there is a beyond. The entire world would pivot on this. Probably be a World War for holy ground.

You're taking it far too literally. The film is more of a parable, with the outward aspects depicting the inward changes of the characters. It's meant to be experienced & felt in the heart. Anything else in the so-called "real world" is superfluous.

reply

Disagree. The film depicts events that happen within the realm of that universe. The ending quite literally shows hundreds, if not thousands, of people flocking to the field "for reasons they cant fathom." There's no reason why I shouldn't be able to speculate what happens beyond the frame of the story, in that universe.

Besides, it was more of a joke post anyway
