Why does Joker complain to Batman about dropping him in a vat of chemicals?

I never entirely understood why Joker would randomly say that during his final confrontation with Batman up in the cathedral. Up until that point, it was never alluded to that the former Jack Napier detested (outside of the inconvenience of having to put on flesh toned make-up from time to time) having permanent white, chalky skin and green hair and finger nails. He even tells Grissom he "Jack is dead!" and that he feels reborn and liberated.

I get that Tim Burton was trying to get across the message that Batman created the Joker and the Joker created Batman when he murdered is parents. But they could've done it in a less clunky and forced manner.

But was he complaining or simply pointing out that Batman was responsible for his reign of terror since he was the one that made him that way? I remember the line from Joker "You idiot! You made me...you dropped me into that vat of stuff!" But I can't remember what Batman said first that he was responding to.

He punched him in the face and said, "I'm gonna kill you!" before Joker said that to him.

But even there, that's an interesting concept to play with regarding how Batman may have actually one way or another, created or attracted his villains. But they really don't go too far into that idea in this movie or any of the other movies.

"You idiot! You made me...remember? You dropped me into that vat of chemicals. That wasn't easy to get over...and don't think that I didn't try."

Those are the funniest lines in the movie. I love it when he says that to Batman, and Jack delivered it so well. It makes me laugh every time. Even the face he has going when he says it is classic.

The Joker really tried to get over getting dropped into those chemicals, but it was too tough, so he chose to murder a city of people instead, lol.

Quite right. Another case of people that can't understand because the don't pay attention. Joker was deriding Batman for failing to appreciate the irony.

Plus. The Joker is insane. He'd rather he wasn't a freak but he's making the most of it by indulging the mania that's always been inside him.
