New voice actor for Dr. Hibbert

It seems a different voice actor has assumed the role of Dr. Hibbert. His voice and, especially, trademark laugh are noticeably different now. I think it would have been better if the show runners had retired the Hibbert character and created a new character to replace him — voiced by a minority voice actor if that is deemed necessary to achieve social justice — or had Dr. Nick take over.

It’s dumb to require that animated characters need be voiced by voice actors of the same race/ethnicity. If one follows the dumb logic of cultural appropriation, for instance, only African actors should voice the animals in Disney’s Lion King rather than black Americans. Avoiding racial stereotypes in the characterization of characters of racial or ethnic groups is a separate matter. It should either be avoided or the show should strive to be an equal-opportunity offender.

I saw a clip of the newly voiced Dr. HIbbert and its awful. I agree just create a new character in Dr. Hibbert's place.

That’s right! Dr. Hibbert, Lou, and Carl SHOULD all definitely be voiced by black actors since they are, of course, black characters and everything. It’s not as if pretending to be someone you’re not in a fictional cartoon is “acting” or anything.

And I hope it doesn’t stop there! The Rich Texan needs to be voiced by someone actually from Texas, Cletus needs to be voiced by a real life hillbilly, and Kang & Kodos need to be voiced by actual aliens from outer space. Let our voices be heard!

Exactly!!!

Midge? Ha! You’ve inadvertently given away your identity, Moe.

Yeah, I didn't care for the new actor's voice. They should have just stuck with the same actors. It is not necessary for actors to look like the animated characters they voice or be the same race.
